It’s easier than you think
If you’ve maxed out the budget on your build, then furnishing your home (initially) may need to be done on a shoestring. But that doesn’t mean you can’t make your home look as tailored as one of our Display Homes. We’ve put together some simple tips to help you decorate your dream home for less.
Occasional chair
Get your essential furniture in first, so you aren’t having to go without. Once the budget allows it, start to introduce feature pieces that make a statement. An occasional chair is an excellent place to start and doesn’t have to break the bank. Place a simple side table next to it and style with some books. This arrangement is perfect for filling space in the corner of a living room, bedroom or home study. The occasional chair featured in the study of our Baltimore 38 on display at Arise is the perfect example of how to use this piece to elevate a room.
Throws & pillows
Are a cost-effective way to introduce different textiles and layers to your home. Shop around for different prints with similar tones that will complement each other. Bundle together your items and ask for a discount at the checkout. Checkout the sitting room in the Grange 25 on display at Everleigh Greenbank to see this elegant and easy combination.
Greenery
Introduce some life to your space without having to part with an exorbitant amount of money. A quick trip to Bunnings and you’ll enjoy three-four plants for your home for under $100. The greenery will reinforce the indoor/outdoor integration you already have in your Coral Homes’ open plan layout.
Lighting
Our good friends over at Beacon Lighting have loads of statement pendants and lamps that will really enhance the look and feel in your home. Currently they have 30% off your second item – bargain!
Add mirrors
Increase the space in your home by adding some oversized mirrors throughout. Negative space on the walls in the heart of your home is great place to start. Be sure to select mirrors that match the theme you have curated and aim for under $150 per mirror.
We are coming into mid-season sales, and there’s lots of great offers around in the wake of Covid-19. Retailers are slashing prices to encourage more sales – so why not take advantage? There are loads of cost-effective options available. Shop around at Kmart, Big W, Target, Ikea, Adairs, Pillow Talk, Amart and even Freedom Furniture. Don’t forget to price match! Facebook Marketplace, Etsy and Gumtree are also great options for pre-loved finds.
