Lisbon 31 at Springfield Rise in partnership with James Hardie

Does your dream home have you imagining the Hamptons? The soft blues, greys and whites have you feeling inspired? We’ve paired up with James Hardie to create the ultimate Hamptons home, and it’s now on display at Springfield Rise.

As you walk up to the Lisbon 31, the first thing you’ll notice is the stunning cladding that wraps around the entire home. “A hallmark of the Australian Hamptons look is the bold horizontal lines created by James Hardie’s deep shadow Linea Weatherboard”, says Steve Pisani, National Builder Business Manager of James Hardie.

“Hamptons is an enduring style and Linea is an enduring fibre cement weatherboard. They’re engineered to avoid the longevity issues associated with timber weatherboards such as shrinking, warping and rotting so they retain their looks for longer. They’re also resistant to fire, termites and damage from moisture,” says Steve.

The Lisbon 31 is fitted with an East Hamptons façade, and has serious street appeal. The unusual wrap of the Linea weatherboards creates a showstopping home and is truly a Hamptons dream. If you haven’t seen many homes where the Hamptons façade continues right around, you’re not alone. While they’re not common, Steve Pisani explains why they should be your choice over rendered brickwork.

“Linea weatherboards have a couple of advantages over rendered brickwork. Firstly, the overlapping weatherboards can cope with a bit of movement whereas rendered walls can crack and it’s near impossible to do an invisible repair. Secondly, in warm climates you want your external walls to shield the heat rather than hold on to it. Weatherboards have much less thermal mass than bricks. If your exterior walls store heat, your air conditioning can be battling the heat slowly released by the bricks… well into the evening!”

The creative and clever design of the Lisbon 31 means a cooler home in summer, and it’s something the whole family will thank you for. On the inside, the Lisbon 31 ticks all of the boxes… and more! The entrance is typical of a Hamptons style home, with wainscoting wall panelling lining the lower walls, large double doors to enter the property and framed prints adorning the walls.

The Lisbon 31 has four bedrooms, three living spaces, two bathrooms, study and a large outdoor living space. The master bedroom has to be the standout, with a space fit for royalty. The sumptuous master suite is brimming with innovate design, including a feature panel wall behind the bedhead that hides the walk-in robe behind it.

The feature wall uses HardieGroove™, which is a vertical panel that draws the eye from floor to ceiling and makes the room feel bigger. ‘Vertical joint internal walls are on-trend detail for feature walls, bedrooms and along corridors and occasionally as an elegant detail in eaves. Typically made from a series of tongue and groove timber boards, HardieGroove™ gives the same V-groove vertical joint look but in a much more stable and uniform fibre cement panel. A panel that gives the look of timber without the hassles of timber such as knots, warping, shrinking and rotting,” says Steve Pisani from James Hardie.

The master bedroom also has a generous ensuite, with double basin vanity, oversized shower and tiled podium bath.

The open plan living and kitchen area caters to the whole family’s needs, and is a beautiful, functional space. The classic Hamptons kitchen uses a subway tile splashback, shaker cabinetry and pendant lighting to create an entertainer’s delight. The large living room opens on to the outdoor area, where you’ll find more of the stunning James Hardie Linea Weatherboard wrapped around the home. As Steve Pisani says, “Linea weatherboards provide a sophisticated aesthetic which evokes a sense of relaxed coastal luxury”.

The Lisbon 31 offers something for the whole family, and is a truly unique home thanks to its East Hamptons façade, adorned in James Hardie Linea Weatherboard and ready to handle the harsh Australian climate.
