Coral Homes Pty Ltd recognises the importance of client privacy and support best practice procedures in the way your personal information is handled.
We manage and maintain an internet web portal which provides information about building a home. Through this internet web portal, we may collect personal information from you. We also may collect personal information from you that you provide via phone, email, in person, in marketing material or phone recordings.
By providing your personal information in the manners set out above, you agree and consent to the collection, use, disclosure, storage and holding of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
In this Privacy Policy, the expressions “we”, “us” and “our” are references to Coral Homes Pty Ltd and any related bodies corporate.
This Privacy Policy identifies how we manage the ‘personal information’ we collect, use, hold and disclose and how to contact us if you have any queries.
We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Act) which includes the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with the Privacy Act and the APPs. You can obtain a copy of the APPs from the Australian Information Commissioner’s website (http://www.oaic.gov.au/).
Coral Homes collects personal information (such as your name, address and contact details) necessary to transact business with you, our customer. Our computerised database will keep track of this information and we will only use such information for business purposes in accordance with this Policy. ‘Personal information’ includes information or an opinion about an individual that is reasonably identifiable. For example, this may include your name, age, gender, postcode and contact details.
When you make an enquiry we ask that you provide basic contact information such as your name, phone number, address, and email address so that we can process it. We may also collect additional information at other times, including but not limited to, when you provide feedback, change your content or email preferences, respond to a survey, or communicate with Coral Homes customer support.
When you visit our website, our server also makes a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes:

- your top level domain (for example .com, .gov, .net .au, etc.);
- the pages you accessed and the documents downloaded;
- the date and time of your visit to the site;
- the previous site you have visited; and

You consent to Coral Homes using your personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected (i.e. to facilitate the construction of your proposed home). This includes disclosing your personal information as follows:
- to all of our staff and contract sales brokers;
- to your bank/lending institution or any other party as directed by you in relation to the proposed building contract;
- to our subcontractors, suppliers, private certifiers, insurers and other statutory bodies as necessary for the purpose of constructing your home;
- unless you specifically direct us not to:
- to our preferred suppliers of finishing items to allow them to contact you regarding their range of products; and
- for marketing purposes or to send you special offers from time to time.
We may need to disclose your personal information in certain exceptional circumstances. This may be required to protect against illegal hackers, to protect our legal rights, or to address actual or threatened illegal or harmful conduct. Disclosure may also be required for legal purposes.
We may store your personal information electronically or in hard copy or both.
We strive to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personal information submitted to our site, and we periodically update our security measures in light of current technologies.
We will take reasonable steps to protect and maintain the security of your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, disclosure or modification in accordance with this Privacy Policy. However, we do not guarantee that unauthorised access to your personal information will not occur, either during transmission of that information to us or after we receive that information.

We will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to destroy or de-identify personal information which we no longer need. These measures may vary depending on the personal information held.
The provision of personal information by you is at your own risk. On our receipt of your personal information we will take reasonable steps to preserve the security of your personal information on our systems.
We may use administrative, physical and technical precautions to help protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of personal information stored in our computerised database. Whilst no computer system is completely secure, we consider the measures implemented by us reduce the likelihood of security problems to a level appropriate to the type of data involved.
If we receive your personal information from you directly, we may provide marketing communications and targeted advertising to you on an ongoing basis by email and telephone in accordance with applicable laws such as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth). At any time you may opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by contacting us at [email protected] or by using opt-out facilities provided in the marketing communications and we will then ensure that your name is removed from our marketing list.
You can request access to your personal information held by us. We may ask that you put the request in writing and may also require some verified proof of identification before releasing or correcting any personal information. You may request access to the information we hold about you at any time by contacting us in writing.
We retain user data while an account is active (i.e. while your home is under construction) and for at least 7 years afterward. We may alter this practice according to legal and business requirements, (i.e. we may lengthen the retention period of some data if needed to comply with law or voluntary codes of conduct). Unless otherwise prohibited, we may shorten the retention period for some types or data if it is no longer required or to free up storage space.
Our website contains links to other sites operated by third parties, these links are meant for your convenience only. Links to third party sites do not constitute sponsorship or endorsement or approval of these sites. Please be aware that Coral Homes Pty Ltd is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware, when they leave our site, to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.
Third Party Authority: We will only discuss or take direction from you in respect of the building project unless you instruct us in writing that you would like us to discuss your building project with a third party (i.e. mother, brother, etc.). Such written instruction must be given by completing an “Authority for 3rd Party to Act on Customer’s Behalf” form which must be signed by you, and which must clearly set out the name of the third party/s and the extent you wish the third party to act for you (Third Party Authority). Should we receive contact from a third party who is not listed in a Third-Party Authority, we will be unable to discuss your building project with them.
