Modern Farmhouse

Acreage living with a contemporary twist

Natural textures and tones

Introducing Coral’s latest trending home style – modern farmhouse. Drawing its inspiration from elements of nature, this acreage design theme showcases organic textures and tones, bringing a laid-back yet contemporary theme to the home.

The modern farmhouse palette incorporates a mix of light and dark timber, deep greens and black accents; highlighted by open spaces and lots of natural light. Natural textures include ceramics, bricks, stacked stone features and timber throughout.

For the final touch, a modern farmhouse home is furnished with tan leather, oaky timbers, linens and hints of black. Creating an elevated cosy lodge feel.

Highlands 338Q at Everleigh

Our recently launched acreage display home, Highlands 36, is modelled on the Modern Farmhouse design theme. This classic home is a contemporary take on a country lodge, incorporating natural textures, feature lighting and open-plan living.

Upon entrance, the raked ceiling in the main living hub create a sense of light and space. On the floor, a light grey Canyon Stone tile  flows from indoor living to alfresco for a relaxed yet elegant feel.

The open plan layout of the living area brings in a contemporary feel, encompassing the kitchen, lounge, alfresco entertaining and resort-style pool area. Crisp white walls are painted in Dulux Snowy Mountains Half.

Forage green tones in the kitchen cabinetry are contrasted with matte black charcoal veining stone benchtops, fixtures and fittings. To match, deep black is accented on the windows and door frames throughout the living space, next to soft Polytec Coastal Oak built-in cabinetry that continues throughout the home.

James Hardie VJ panelling features in the study and media room, to add a textural element to the walls. Feature pendant lighting, wall scones and wall lights create an opulent feel, featuring black metal, brass and ceramics.

Modern Farmhouse Kitchen

The kitchen of the Highlands 36 is a contemporary take on a traditional acreage home, with panelled detailing on the cabinetry. While the eucalyptus colour of the doors ties in to the greenery that surrounds an acreage home.

A thick Caesarstone benchtop with a striking charcoal finish in Black Tempal compliments the laidback coastal oak in the cabinetry. For the complete modern farmhouse look, gunmetal tapware and fixtures are added to create a modern mood.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a contemporary acreage home without the luxury of a butlers pantry. Making it effortless to host family and friends, the butlers pantry of the Highlands 36 continues the same dark Caesarstone benchtops as the kitchen. However, in this section of the home the cabinetry is fresh and white, keeping with the gunmetal fixtures and fittings for impact.

For the ultimate farmhouse character, a small format tile splashback in Tetra Midan Cotton has been arranged throughout – a modern version of a subway tile that adds texture. For extra charm, a barn style window and floating oak shelving is included.

The Lodge Facade

With nods to traditional acreage, the Lodge Facade welcomes a blend of modern and farmhouse textures. The base of the exterior is finished in a light render in Dulux Winter Fog, plus Bowral Bricks’ Highlands Woodlands and hardwood cladding accents in Spotten Gum.

The hero of the home is the lodge-style stacked stone feature ranging from floor to roof. Making the house feel both homely and contemporary, while blending into the natural landscape.

To balance the stone detailing, the entrance to the home is paved with herringbone patterned bricks and planters bring a touch of greenery and warmth – all leading to a square-set feature entrance.

The stone on the facade continues throughout the home with a statement floor-to-ceiling fireplace and as a water feature in the pool area.
Out the back of the home, the landscaping includes a chic textured brick and on-trend eko decking – a low maintenance timber look.

A Modern Farmhouse bathroom that’s your sanctuary

A calming space to retreat, the bathrooms of the Highlands 36 are equally modern and full of charm.

The ensuite uses a base of classics neutrals, including Caesarstone Bianco Drift benchtops, coastal oak cupboards and gunmetal tapware and handles. For elegance, a subtle panel detail is added to the doors. These basics create a sense of class and luxury, while the checked statement floor tile adds to the traditional farmhouse allure.

The Highlands 36 ensuite also plays with a range of shapes and textures, contrasting a classic square tile on the wall with contemporary curved-edge mirrors.

A luxe freestanding bath completes the serenity, adjacent to glass windows that showcase a calming view of the nature that surrounds.
