By taking on some tasks yourself
An important part of your home build is making sure you get your budgeting right. Part of your budgeting plan should assess if there’s any items in your home you can do yourself that will not only personalise the home, but save you money. This will mean you can splurge on something else – like a beautiful Caesarstone® benchtops in your kitchen. We’ve put together a list below of items you may not have realised you can do yourself when you build with us.
Panelling
If you are after a panelled feature wall like many of the ones we have on display, this is certainly something we can do for you. Or it may be something you want to have a go at yourself later down the track.
Feature walls
Although we can take care of this, you may want to play around with pops of colour on feature walls yourself. You can opt to get the home completely painted in neutrals, then tackle the feature walls after handover. Wallpaper is also a fantastic way of creating a stunning feature wall and something you can easily do yourself.
Custom Cabinetry
Spice up your home study or TV unit with some custom-made built-in cabinets. Do it yourself or ask us how we can help.
Barn door
A trending item that many of our customers have been installing themselves after their home has been handed over is a large-scale barn door to close off their media room for privacy. Checkout @trimblebree‘s stunning barn door for inspo. It’s Coral Homes goals.
Window furnishings
Curtains are an easy item to manage installing yourself. These accessories can make a huge difference to the look and feel of the room, particularly if you prefer a slightly different style in each room. Sheer linen curtains in the living areas, but bold patterned block out curtains might be better suited to the master bedroom and media room. Our good friend over @thewhitehamptonhouse has an excellent DIY handle project for her sheer curtains in the living area. Another fab Coral home owner to follow!
Letterbox and landscaping
Are items you may want to look at completing yourself. Decking, outdoor pavers and a fence are some other great DIY projects you may want to consider tackling yourself after the home is handed over.
