What Makes the Perfect Hamptons Style Kitchen?

Modern Hamptons style kitchen

Designing a Hamptons kitchen? Want to know what makes a good Hamptons kitchen?

Personal taste and preference obviously play a huge part in answering the question ‘What makes the perfect Hamptons style kitchen?’. However, we have put together a shortlist based on our super popular Hamptons display homes, which have been carefully curated by our expert interior design team.

Coral Homes love shaker-style cabinetry, Caesarstone® benchtops and mushroom knobs…

To help you narrow down your key selection items, here are the key components which are at the top of our list for a modern Hamptons kitchen:

Hamptons kitchen with upper cabinets with clear glass.
Hamptons kitchen with upper and lower cabinetry in the colour Ghostgum and the island in Battalion.

Hamptons style cabinets

Shaker-style cabinetry is a must! At Coral Homes, we offer Laminex’s ‘Settler’ profile with a satin finish to create this look. As an additional touch of Hamptons luxury, you could even do your upper cabinetry with clear glass!

Cabinets with clear glass are becoming more popular because they are great for displaying and illuminating your kitchenware and décor items in a versatile manner and enable you to see directly into the cabinet while looking brilliant.

You can visit or take a virtual tour of our Boston 42 MKII on display at Newport in Brisbane QLD to see what clear glass uppers look like in a home and how to display all your items.

Normally cabinetry in a Hamptons kitchen is all white, however, a more modern twist is to have the lowers and/or the island bench in a dark grey or blue for an additional pop of colour.

Our Noosaville 25 on display at Banyan Hill Estate in Ballina NSW pulls off this look perfectly with the upper and lower cabinetry in the colour Ghostgum, but the island is in a striking Battalion!

Hamptons cabinet handles or ‘hardware’

The absolute ‘go to’ hardware to create the Hamptons look is the traditional combination of the ‘mushroom’ and the ‘cup pulls’ handles on your cabinets.

Although anything with a bit of flourish and a traditional looking will do for the Hamptons… depending on what you prefer of course!

At Coral Homes, most of our Hamptons displays will feature the Traditional Shell 64mm D369 (cup pull) and the Knob 29.8mm DK1357 (mushroom), both from Kethy. For example, on display in the Milan 29 at Huntlee Estate, Hunter Region in NSW.

These are available in a variety of colours, with the most popular being polished chrome or Satin Chrome (less shiny version). In more recent times, you will also start to see hardware coming through in matt black. This creates a startling contrast to white cabinetry and adds a touch of modernity to your Hamptons kitchen. You can see matt black handles at our Lisbon 32 on display at Harmony on the Sunshine Coast in QLD.

Hamptons benchtops

You can’t go past Caesarstone® for benchtops in regard to quality, durability and a variety of on-trend colours for you to choose from. The colour Georgian Bluffs from Caesarstone’s Deluxe range is a very popular choice with our expert interior designers and this colour can be seen across a number of our display homes with a Hamptons or the more relaxed Coastal décor.

Traditionally, the bench top is either mainly white or off-white in colour and Caesarstone® offers a large variety of options in their range with different types of veins to choose from.

Check out our Lisbon 31 on display at Springfield Rise in Greater Springfield, QLD which features the colour Statuario Nuvo (white background with fine dark grey spider vein).

For a more modern look combine a grey background benchtop with your white cabinetry like in our Capri 26 on display at Aura on the Sunshine Coast QLD featuring the colour sleek concrete from Caesarstone®.
