Master Bedroom Ideas Coral Homes

Bring the wow factor to walls with built-in cabinetry, wallpaper, feature tiling and textural panelling.

In a similar way that an artist paints a blank canvas to create a masterpiece, interior designers incorporate hard finishes and textures to the walls of a home to bring it to life.

We’ve highlighted our Top 4 interior texture trends from our cutting-edge display homes, to inspire your new build.

1. Built-in cabinetry

Baltimore 38 (arise) Lounge

Not only does built-in cabinetry provide functional storage for books and TVs but it also adds texture to a space.

The kitchen cabinetry in the Baltimore 38 at Arise, Rochedale features timber-look walnut Laminex to add warmth and texture to the home. The built-in cabinetry also conceals an integrated fridge which seamlessly blends with the timber tones.

Walnut bookshelf joinery also displayed in the Baltimore 38 living room provides storage for books and showcases artefacts. The walnut Laminex shelving contrasts against a faux marble Laminex backing in charcoal, helping to build layers of texture in the living room.

The “Decadent Sanctuary” interior theme of the Baltimore 38 uses a simple palette to deliver drama and luxury.

Lisbon 32 (harmony) Kitchen

Another example of texture showcased by built-in cabinetry, is shown in the Lisbon 32 at Harmony Estate. The quintessential “Hamptons Elegance” interior of the Lisbon 32 is spearheaded with shaker-style cabinetry in the kitchen.

The fresh white cabinetry on the overhead cupboards is Laminex Formwrap in Ghostgum Satin finish with pocket-routered doors in the Settler profile.

While the cabinetry on either side of the stovetop and on the island bench is Laminex Formwrap in Ghostgum Satin finish in face-routered doors in classic VJ panelling.

Both these vertically textured kitchen cabinets have a dialogue with one another and speak to the overall Hamptons theme.  They also contrast beautifully with the marble Beaumont Tiles subway splashback.

2. Wallpaper

Geometric and textural wallpaper adds another dimension to bedrooms, as shown in the Baltimore 38 at Arise, Rochedale. The hand-cut Arte wallpaper featured above the bedhead gives the illusion of parquetry in a 3D look.

Metallic finishes also helps create a luxurious touch to the boudoir. This bedroom look is further ignited using additional metallic accessories. The double pendant ball lighting uses glass as a texture to reflect the light and mimic the circular wallpaper pattern. The luxurious gold side tables have brass/metal bottoms and marble tops. The ottoman at the end of the bed is upholstered in a soft, subtle green linen, which works back with the wallpaper.

Feature wallpaper in the bedroom vanity in a similar geometric metallic print links to the main bedroom wallpaper in the Baltimore 38 and carries the luxe vibe through to the walk-in wardrobe.

Another example of wallpaper adding personality to a bedroom can be seen in the Noosaville 23 at Harmony Estate. Demonstrating how the “Global Traveller” theme of interior can be achieved, the leaf-print wallpaper gives a herringbone panelled effect, which brings texture in spades!

The master bedroom of the Boston 42 MKII features wallpaper in a calming azure hue. This slightly textured finish gives a foundation to the room and works back with coastal accents seen in coral artworks and artefacts.

Rochester 33 (newport) Master Bedroom

The Rochester 33 also features patterned wallpaper behind the bedhead in the master bedroom. The organic tribal wallpaper contrasts against graphic orb pendants. While the artworks, black stitching on the bedhead and warmth of the timber in the bedside tables add even more textural elements to the room. This moody monochrome palette falls under the design theme of “Urban Minimalist/ Modernico”. The black and white styling is offset with punchy metallic lighting and accessories. It’s interesting to note that the print of the wallpaper is echoed in textured bed linen and the wood grain of the bedside table to tie the look together.

3. Feature Tiling

As seen in the stylish laundry of the Lisbon 32 at Harmony Estate, feature tiling can make a bold and chic statement. Despite the monochrome colour way of white on white, the added texture of the white and grey geometric patterned tiles brings another dimension and point of interest to the styling.

The feature tiling in the powder room of the Baltimore is a thing of beauty. The chalky white kit kat tiles contrast with delicate metallic pendant lights like jewellery for the bathroom! Further texture play is shown in the Cosmopolitan White benchtop and grey marble-look floor tiles.

The bathroom wall in the Santorini 27 at Everleigh features soft patterned tiles that also provide an example of how texture is added to the space.

4. Panelling

The feature wall in the master bedroom and retreat within the Lisbon 32 at Harmony Estate showcases baton and board or wainscotting wall panelling. This traditional woodwork panelling is painted in Dulux Timeless Grey.  The vertical panels on the lower two thirds of the wall contrast with the neutral linen crosshatch wallpaper sitting above, creating interest and appeal. The wallpaper lends itself to the button-tufted bedhead.

Lisbon 32 (harmony) Master Retreat

The Porta panelling in a fluted profile is featured in the master bedroom of the San Marino 27 at Harmony Estate. The curved panelling, painted in Dulux China White is mimicked in the shape of the bedhead. The vertical linear feature wall behind the bedhead has a flow with other linear elements in the room from the vertical texture of the bedside table to the cushions and valance on the bed. The neutral palette of the bedroom is brought to life with these linear textures!
