Coral Customer Story: How Matt and Charis built their new Hamptons home
It’s the picture-perfect Hamptons home of their dreams, according to happy Coral homeowners, Charis and Matt. As a growing family of four, the beautiful Baltimore home design with Hamptons Facade ticks all of the boxes for Charis and Matt, including a main family living hub, room for entertaining, separate living areas and a spacious floorplan that fits on their narrow block.
“The thing we really liked about this Baltimore floorplan was being able to see from the front door, all the way to the back. It just flowed really nicely,” says Matt.
Charis adds, “We really loved that were separate living areas for us and the children and that the bedrooms upstairs were separated. As the children get older we really liked the idea of having our own space and they can have their own space as well.”
Dream Hamptons home for family entertaining
Their favourite part of the home is the “living, kitchen and dining leading into the outdoor.”
According to Charis and Matt, they do most of their entertaining in this main living hub, plus in the alfresco space. “It’s a really easy space to entertain, you can have people indoor and you can have people outdoor and it doesn’t feel cramped,” says Charis.
Living in the beautiful Queensland climate, Charis explains “We have quite a lot of people come over for BBQ’s and a swim.” Reminiscing on their recent family gatherings, Charis continues, “It’s just a really nice easy space to entertain in.”
Bringing the beach to Brisbane
When it comes to coastal interior design, there’s nothing more classic and homely than a Hamptons home. “It’s a nice light, airy feel,” says Charis.
As a family, Charis, Matt and their kids love the beach, which worked as inspiration for their new Coral build. They explain, “As a family we go to the beach a lot, so we really wanted to have that coastal feeling when we’re at home.” When it came time to select a builder, Charis confirmed that “Coral offer a lot of really great Hamptons style inclusions, so it was just a no-brainer for us.”
In fact, their favourite part of the new home journey is colour selections, where all of their Hamptons home dreams started to come to life. Charis confirms, “Our favourite process throughout the build would definitely have to be colours,” she continues, “Starting to realise all of our plans and all of the things we wanted to include in the home.”
If you’re a coastal interior design fan, you’ll fall in love with their Hamptons kitchen, featuring the traditional shaker style cabinetry, neutral colours and stunning Caesarstone benchtops. “My favourite part of the kitchen is definitely the big island bench and all of the shaker cabinetry,” says Charis.
She explains, “The butler’s pantry being hidden around the corner was a big drawcard for me too…When we entertain we can hide all of the mess and still have a really nicely presented kitchen.”

The journey starts with display homes
Their new home journey began with browsing through display homes like Newport, Rochedale Arise and Springfield Rise.
