Top things to know before knocking down your home and building new

Knocking down and building a new home is not an unsolved mystery, however there are some hints and tips you are best to know about before undertaking a knockdown and rebuild project.

1. Council regulations

• Temporary fencing during demolition for safety requirements

• Asbestos removal service and the applicable clearance certificate (if applicable)

• Plugging and capping all sewer lines before the project gets underway.

It is also recommended that you get a commitment on their schedule to ensure they have capacity to fit in your job in accordance to when you want to start building, plus how long it will take to complete the removal and clearing so that you can align your site start date with us. This will minimize the time required to be out of your home and the additional costs involved.

4. Approval must be attained

It is really important that your demolition company does not start the demolition until we have attained your building permit approval for you.
